About Deso

DESO

Biography

His name is Émile Desaulniers, but his creativity shines under the name DESO. He is 24 years old.

At the start of his career, Deso quickly distinguished himself internationally by making his way among the hundred semi-finalists (all mediums combined) of the international Art box projects Zurich 1.0 competition, in the summer of 2019. In addition, in the spring of 2020 , he won the L'art de la nouvelle competition, by the Galerie Québec Art. Since then, he has been represented by this art gallery located in the heart of Old Quebec.

With his unique techniques and style, he paints surprising and textured characters, and lively cities, crowded with buildings, each more colorful and bizarre than the last. Its buildings with their asymmetrical shapes are integrated into a dynamic composition, from which emerges a teeming urban life.

ARTISTIC APPROACH

I like to merge the urban universe and the imaginary world of comics.

Through my aerosol paints, I create dynamic urban landscapes where buildings and people come to life in a play of bright colors and contrasts.

The figures in the windows add a narrative dimension to my works, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in scenes full of life.

Using different spray paints allows me to explore the interactions between pigments and create unique and captivating effects on the canvas. By mastering this technique, I can fully express my artistic vision and have fun inventing everyday scenes.

By integrating other mediums, such as acrylic, I seek to enrich my works by giving them additional texture and depth. This combination of techniques allows me to create original and expressive compositions to captivate the eye and imagination of the viewer.

I attach great importance to the representation of bright skies above cities in my works. These bright skies bring a touch of poetry and magic to my landscapes, creating a striking contrast with the hustle and bustle of city life.

I also create works featuring a large character that I shape using paint and different recovered materials.

Through my art, I seek to transport the viewer into an imaginary universe, inviting everyone to explore and dream at the heart of my creations.
